Lea established Shelemey Law Office in 2005, a practice dedicated to Family Law and Mediation. Lea is a Registered Mediator, Guardian ad Litem, and Parenting Coordinator. She joined the Indiana Association of Mediators in 2011, has served on the Board since 2012 as Secretary for several years, as President in 2022 and 2023, and continues to serve as Chair of the Conference Committee and Constitution and Bylaws Committee. Lea encourages collaboration rather than confrontation. She maintains that mediation offers individuals engaged in conflict the opportunity to explore options in an attempt to resolve their disputes peacefully without court intervention.
